Have you ever been in a lingerie shop and seen foreign sizes? Suddenly you don’t know if you’re a 36F or a 36G! And what in the world is a quadruple D?!
I’m here to show you today, the difference between UK sizing and US sizing, to hopefully clear up some of that great confusion. US sizing is almost completely different from the UK, using quadruple D’s and skipping E. So, why is it important to learn US sizing?
Every bra cannot be the same and that goes for sizing as well. Just because you find your equivalent size in US sizing, doesn’t mean it will fit the same. So if you ever can’t find your perfect size, try finding it on the other side of the ocean! It is easy to find your equivalent size once you get the hang of it, but here’s a handy chart to help.
US=UK
A = A
B = B
C = C
D = D
DD = DD

DDDD/G = F

When you go into a boutique with US sizing, now you should have the tools to make a good choice! North American sizing offers a whole new side to lingerie and gives you a multitude of options.
If you ever visit the US, there are many boutiques that offer UK and European sizing, but mostly, you will find native sizing in a US store. Especially, if you are shopping online, some places don’t offer a conversion calculator or different sizing. Some online stores are strictly US sizing and that’s it! So it’s up to me and you to figure out your perfect size.
It’s also important to know that not every bra is going to fit the same. Some brands run small or larger, depending on the manufacturer, and it’s important to have the option of multi-country sizing to help you find that perfect fit. Just like sister sizing, sometimes it can just be trial-and-error and you will have to adjust repeatedly. That is why we suggest coming in store and finding a local bra fitter to professionally size you and help you find your new favorite lingerie.
